Unnecessarily Time Consuming Job Applications
About a year ago I was in the job market and I would regularly come across job listings with job descriptions that read as if they were written with me in mind. I would click on the listing to apply and usually the first thing I would see is that it required that I create a profile in order to apply or even worst upload my resume then manually input my work history. Creating a profile can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes of answering questions and agreeing to terms and conditions before being able to apply. This is sometimes helpful because in some cases you’re able to apply to other jobs by reusing a previous application, but expecting candidates to create and remember logins at dozens if not hundreds of websites is unrealistic because the username/password requirements vary from site to site. Over time it becomes a burden to keep track of your logins at various sites. If you have to reset your password because there are too many to keep track of it reduces any time savings you may have had by being able to reuse your application.
High Drop Off Rates
Greenhouse Software completed a survey of 1500 job seekers in their 2022 Greenhouse Candidate Report and 66% of those surveyed reported that the length of the initial application is a factor in determining whether they’ll complete and submit it. More than 70% of job seekers said they will not submit a job application if it takes more than 15 minutes to complete. According to research from Appcast, the candidate drop off rate for people who click ‘Apply’ but never complete an application is 92%. This is a significant increase from the reported 60% drop off rate that was reported by CareerBuilder in 2016. An earlier report from Appcast suggests that recruiters can boost conversion rates by up to 365% by reducing the length of the application process to five minutes or less. Easyapplyjobs.com seeks to connect job seekers with jobs that have simple application processes.
Historically High Job Openings
In Q1 of 2022 there were over 11 million job openings in the United States, this is a historical high and higher than the number of people that are seeking employment. Easy Apply Jobs helps job seekers to exclusively find job listings that are relatively easy to apply to.
Current Easy Apply Sites Have Limited Functionality
Job seekers have options to search jobs that are easy to apply to. There isn’t a centralized source to view all easy apply jobs. Different sites have different classifications for what is considered an easy apply job listing, it is usually a job listing that allows you to submit a resume with additional information directly to a recruiter. Thousands of jobs that are easy to apply to wouldn’t be considered Easy Apply under this definition. On easyapplyjobs.com users can browse jobs that are easy to apply to that may not be considered Easy Apply on other sites.
Encourage Employers to Improve Their Application Process
My mission is to save job seekers time when searching for new roles and connect them to recruiters with streamlined application processes. I hope that more employers will continue to improve their effectiveness in getting applicants to complete applications by reducing the time it takes to complete. I believe this will help employers recruit better talent while also reducing their cost per applicant.
